#Does the X65405 QSFP have LC or MPO interface?

ok, didn't think to look there, just the parts finder. Thanks.
the X65406 has LC, but is not supported everywhere the X65405 is, and it is single mode
Oh I just noticed you wrote X65405 in the title and 65404 in your question... which one do you mean?
The X65404 is LC, but only 25G
it just came up as the network guys use LC for 100GbE. My bad, X65405 ... fingers are in a hurry today
I don't think NetApp has any 100G MultiMode QSFPs that have an LC connector... I'm only aware of the CWDM SingleMode one (X65406), everything else I've seen so far was always MPO/MtP
the HWU doesn't make searching for NICs very easy, or at least intuitive enough for me. If I enter the part number, it wants a category, but greys them all out... but I have an answer for now. Thanks
That optic is known as a BiDi (100g LC)
Talk to the Netapp sales team.
You should be able to get a feature policy variation request (fPVR) approved.
Not supported on all platforms and cards
The SR1.2 version is usually not supported either
There’s many customers using the BiDi option and have an supported pvr
@torn karma is right we have an approved PVR to use 40/100G LC BiDi from Cisco, but only on the Vino platform currently
I’ve heard it’s nearly a blanket pvr. Apply and get approved in most cases as long as the card/platform supports optical transceivers
so the PVR would allow use of Cisco 40/100 LC BiDi QSFP's in specific controllers (whatever the "vino" platform is, if I understand this correctly. Just for future reference.
"Vino" is the higher-end (A70/C80/A90) platform, and depending on who at NetApp you ask also the diskless models (A1k, FAS70, FAS90) 😄
okidok
I don’t have the pvr numbers available but I know it’s been done for many platforms not just vino.
Correct if just asked our account team and the feedback was, that every new platform is supported. In our environment this would be C60, A70, A90 and the FAS70/90
