Hi NetApp team, may anybody comment on the current situation with ONTAP S3 and Veeam ObjectLock / immutability support? I have heard some hiccups are ongoing and now I can see even Veeam more or less officially confirming an issue as well. Are there any ongoing discussions between Veeam and you (NetApp team) in regards of this?

Veeam says:
"Warning: While ONTAP 9.14 and above support Object Immutability, these features currently do not function with Veeam Backup and Replication version 12.0 and higher."

well, I have tested this in the lab as well, but lab and production with hundreds of locked TBs are two different things 🙂 Veeam community and it looks like Veeam itself (at least according link attached) confirming some hiccups 😕 . So it would be nice to have any NetApp more or less official comment on this...

BTW. I have already seen your link...nice wrap-up anyway!

hm, if you want something official, I guess you will have to ask Veeam instead of NetApp though...

NetApp can't say much about the compatibility of 3rd party products

sure thing, but since there is most probably intention to move this from Veeam ready program to valid / certified solution (at least I hope so 🙂 ) like StorageGrid is, somebody from NetApp could maybe comment on this
