#FAS50 limitations

Looked at FAS50, unfortunately it only supports 9.16.1, which we can't get to this year, but it also only supports 8-nodes in a cluster. Will these limits remain, or is there a chance it will be adapted for broader coverage in a cluster, and a lower ONTAP version?
