Hi All
I am very new to the world of netapp and any storages. I would like to get your expert suggestions on a topic.
I have 2 node AFF-A250 cluster running on ONTAP NetApp Release 9.10.1P10.
I would like to upgrade it to the version 9.14.1P11.
I have performed updates on netapps with a bit newer versions than this and those were all serving NFS volumes.
This particular cluster is serving iscsi, and I could see the LIFs failover policy is disabled and when I read about it, it is supposed ot be like that and the clients has to do the multipathing on their end.
REF https://kb.netapp.com/on-prem/ontap/da/SAN/SAN-KBs/Why_can_t_we_enable_automatic_failover_for_ISCSI_SAN_lifs
Also this version is affected by https://kb.netapp.com/on-prem/ontap/Ontap_OS/OS-KBs/PANIC__page_fault_supervisor_read_data_page_not_present_on_VA_0x20_in_process_mlogd
So I will be updating the cluster to a minor version which has a fix for this, then upgrading to the 9.14.x
So this is my plan to do the upgrade
I have taken the list of iscsi initiators using #iscsi initiator show -fields igroup,initiator-name,tpgroup, to see how it looks after the upgrade.
- I will upgrade the cluster to 9.10.1P18
- once both the nodes are upgraded I will go ahead and upgrade it to 9.14.1P11
Is there anything else I should be taking care in this situation?
