#Snapshot policy w/ SVMDR?

Is it possible to have different snapshot policies on the source and SVMDR snapmirrored replica for a volume?
The use case here is that we want to keep 21 days worth of snapshot protection - but sometimes users cause huge deltas on the source volume, causing large hourly and daily snapshots that can fill the volume.

I was thinking about having a minimal snap retention on the source volume but an extended (21 day) retention on the SVMDR mirror. Is this possible? Or should I think about this differently?
