Hi all, sorry if this is the wrong group for this but I am trying to take from acloudguru ubuntu server to netapp simulator. The playbook keeps timing out and I cannot ping from ubunu to sim. I have been told to try using bridged network on sim end, is this possible and if so, does anyone have any documentation for this?
many thanks
Darren.
#simulator using bridged network

what hypervisor are you using? VMware workstation? ESX? Something else?
in VMware workstation it is as easy as clicking on "bridged" for the relevant network adapter(s)
thanks as always for your help, does this have to be done at machine/sim creation or can it be converted? For each of my nodes i have 4 network adapters first 2 host only and last 2 NAT.
and sorry forgot to mention, I am using vmware workstation 12 player
I usually change the setting later. I don't know if it can be done when you import the OVA
do you know if there is any documentation or guide to carry this out please?
what more documentation do you need? just click on settings, then on the network card, and then on "bridged" (see screenshot)
i am just enquiring as to which of the 4 network adapters need changing to bridged and if any other params have to set?
the ones that have your cluster's external IP addresses ... so probably the NAT ones
For my lab, I usually use NAT, and from your virtual network editor confirm the active network settings and IP range, ensure that the IP range of the simulator is same with VNE and also Ubuntu.
