#AIQ Config Advisor not able to connect to clusters. Several customers and installs

Hi team!

Lately I've had problems running Config Advisor on several sites, and from several computers.
All these are in Norway, could there be some locality issues?

When starting a new "ONTAP Post-Deployment Validation" I enter IP and user/passwd. I then press "Form Validate" but never get any responce.
Just now I recreated the problem on my own laptop running updated Win11.
I don't actually have an Ontap system available here, so I just put in the default GW, expecting CA to error out but I just get the spinning circle.
I recently had this problem remoting in to two different customers, installing the SW on two different Windows machines and running against two different OnTap clusters. Same behaviour.

How can I troubleshoot this? I see a error.log file, with just two lines:
2024/11/11 17:28:16 [notice] 28844#29064: signal process started
2024/11/11 17:28:16 [error] 28844#29064: OpenEvent("Global\ngx_quit_19036") failed (2: The system cannot find the file specified)

Any suggestion?
Best,
Karl

this immediately reminded me of the Norway Problem ... although I admit I have no idea if that's actually the cause here or if it's just coincidence that all your systems are in Norway 🙂

Haha, I had never heard of that problem before.
I've previously had problems with some software (including an old version of SnapDrive) because the desimal separator in Norway is "," and not "."

I opened a ticket for this problem and got the following workaround that seem to work for me. I add it here in hope it can help someone else (or even myself!) later:

  1. Shut down Config Advisor app if already running.
  2. Delete the rules_repo,Results & ParsedData folders from location: 'user_directory'/ConfigAdvisorAIDE/
  3. Restart the application
  4. Let the application load completely (all required folders gets created at background at same location i.e 'user_directory'/ConfigAdvisorAIDE)
  5. Now do ONTAP form validation again.
