Hi Teams, I have a question regarding CI where it is only used in a NetApp / VM environment. I heard that when you do a POC, the licences are free. But what about the license if you are only going to monitor NetApp and VM systems in a Production environment, and no other systems? Is the license then still based on the normal licence model?

When you spin up a trial tenant you get all the bells and whistles. Before the trial period ends you have the option to move down to BASIC (free) or get a proper subscription for PREMIUM. With BASIC you can monitor all NetApp hardware (StorageGRID, ONTAP etc) and you will get a bit of the VMware metrics related to storage. Exactly what metrics from VMware you'll be missing with BASIC I'm not sure about. Haven't seen this described anywhere.
Just remember the free version only retains 7 days of metrics, so not really useful for long term trending or historical reporting
Okay, on this - is it possible to monitor clusters, that is not under support from NA, with CI? We are preparing a quote for the Customer for Premium.
yes, device contracts are not checked for monitoring in CI. if you're wanting to monitor vsims for example, that will work using the ontap collector, and so should any rebranded ontap cluster (if you have any). they will still count towards the MUs.
Thank you. I suppose any Clustered system, but not 7-mode?
