We have a new customer with a par of C800's that we would like to mirror using ActiveSync... but the customer would also like to use NVMEoF (TCP).. but apparently it's not supported... yet? Does anyone have any insights into this? Is there a release of this close? Also we heard that at some point it would be possible to convert LUNs to NVMe Namespaces... Does anyone know when that would be ready in ONTAP?
#SnapMirror ActiveSync using NVMEoF?

NVMe_oF with SM-as is not yet supported. Last I heard it's not coming with the next ONTAP release, you need to wait at least for one more.
Converting a LUN into a namespace is already possible since 9.11.1: https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap-cli/vserver-nvme-namespace-convert-from-lun.html
I can see that 9.16.0P1 can be downloaded.. looks like it's only for ASA systems? And I cannot find any release notes describing new stuff? (actually not even for ASA C800, but only the new fanzy models) 😉
yes it's only for ASA r2. For all other systems, 9.16.1 is not out yet (only a EAP X-Release). Release Notes will only come out when it's GA
