We had this running fine with ESXi 7 but out service team updated VMware to 8.0.3 and now whenever we try to deploy it bombs out and deleted the cluster.
The error is
Node “node1” create failed. Reason: Could not create CD-ROM:
SOAP Fault:
———————
Fault String: A specified parameter was not correct: spec.url
Fault detail: InvalidArgumentFault. Manual deletion of this node from its host maybe required
Any ideas ?

Really no fix for 9.15.1?? We have many customers waiting to finally be able to update their hosts.
I thought this has been fixed already with 9.15.1P2 but you only need to validate it and update IMT?

Yeah its fixed in 9.15.1P2 and 9.14.1P8. IMT needs updating. It always lags.
IMT doesn't mean explicitly unsupported, it just means we haven't fully tested the compatibility, but doesn't mean it wont work. It is fixed and is listed in the fixes for 9.15.1P2:
