it's transparent, but not nondisruptive even with CA shares. see here in the "Additional Information" section

what's your use-case? Hyper-V? MS SQL?
there might be other ways to do what you need
Hyper-V shares
you could go SAN for those that require nondisruptive site failover (either MetroCluster or SM active sync, depending on the detailed requirements). However, usually when your whole site fails, a few seconds for rebooting VMs is not that much of an issue. For some applications you can also set up application-level redundancy one layer above the storage, etc.
