#ONTAP Simulator keeps crashing

I have seen this happen in the past too. Usually it is better to just shut down the simulator properly
Oh I get it. I was thinking I was doing something wrong.
Are you running out of space on your root aggregates? I've had issues with our simulators crashing because of that. Check out this thread for info on fixing that:

This ^^^. It's a huge problem with vSIMs.
using vdisks makes the simulator much more usable. too bad it's pretty tricky to set up
Are you talking about making new disk from systemshell
Thanks Jim. No. The root aggregate is the first thing I expand.
The major error has been that of management gateway server restarted , trying to reconnect.
The alarming thing is, I'm preparing the lab for my Master's project defense, I am simulating the performance of running databases workloads using iscsi protocol. I have rebuilt the storage like 4 times in 2 weeks
no. you can (with a bit of tweaking) directly attach vmdk files as disks to the simulator and have ONTAP use them. That way they won't fill up your root volume
