#ASA LUN 16TB Limit?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
...this is with OTV... trying to create a 22TB datastore... apparently is't also not possible on AFF... you have to create it first (under 16TB) and the resize it to 22TB afterwards...
Correct, the limit has been lifted to 128TB in 9.12.1:
The maximum supported LUN size on AFF and FAS platforms is increased from 16 TB to 128 TB. The maximum supported LUN size in SnapMirror configurations (both synchronous and asynchronous) is increased from 16 TB to 128 TB.

sounds like you might be running a very old version of OTV ... what version do you have installed?
Well not an "old" version... but a know bug.. https://kb.netapp.com/data-mgmt/OTV/VSC_Kbs/ONTAP_Tools_for_VMware_vSphere:_OTV_9.12_Datastore_creation_limited_on_FAS_systems_to_16TB
This is the message.. I misread it... this is OTV version 9.13P1
You then get this error later... which forces you to create the datastore less than the 16TB first, and then you can expand it over... (with OTV)...
🤦♂️
ah, that episode was a classic 🙂
My other favorite one recently is Pakleds.
hm, I don't think I remember those. That's not the "Shaka when the walls fell" aliens, right?
ah no are those the ones that tried to trick the Enterprise crew into upgrading their weapons or something?
Right.
