#Network traceroute troubleshooting

since LDAP uses UDP per default, MTU problems in the path between the systems and the domain controllers can cause such problems...
This has been an odd issue for some time. I think a recent patch release in current versions may have stabilized the message. Generally it is usually a false positive (although not always especially if your cifs is not working!)
There's a traceroute command in ONTAP if that is what you're referring to with MTR:
https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap-cli/network-traceroute.html
If the messages you are seeing are "secd.ldap.noServers" there are many reasons for it. Most likely it's this: https://kb.netapp.com/on-prem/ontap/da/NAS/NAS-KBs/secd.ldap.noServers%3AEMERGENCY_due_to_trusted_DC_discovery_after_ONTAP_upgrade
