#Change IPspace of an SVM

As per the title, I'm kinda lost on how to change the IPspace of an existing SVM. I've looked through SVM Settings and tried to edit the SVM, but couldn't find how to change this. The current one I have is not on the default IPspace, but I'd like to change it to the default.
If it's only possible through the CLI, I'd appreciate the commands. How descrutctive could it be to change the IPspace of an SVM, too? Is it seamless or would it affect any of the volumes created in it?

Thank you for your help, much appreciated.

it's not possible. You have to create a new SVM and re-host all volumes to it. Note that you have to re-do all your CIFS config, NFS settings, export-policies, etc.

Ok, that's what I feared. Thanks for the confirmation!

May you can use svm-dr to keep the cifs/nfs config.

Nope. Cannot svmDr to the same cluster!

#

ONTAP currently doesn’t allow it

#

Remember: your ipspace needs either-> dedicated physical ports or dedicated vlans.

It’s the volume rehost command.

Build the new svm then leave the volumes online and rehost away. It’s simple and easy
