I am currently running 9.5P4 and I'm planning to update to 9.9.1. What jumps between versions do You recommend with taking CVE-2022-38023 into consideration?

Supported ONTAP upgrade paths

The version of ONTAP that you can upgrade to depends on your hardware platform and the version of ONTAP currently running on your cluster's nodes.

That's a good plan. Most important is to update to the latest P-release of 9.5 before you update to another major version since your current 9.5P4 is really old.

You could try the direct multi-hop but it's not really needed and has no real benefit. Simply update one version after the other and check in between if everything works.

Also please keep your system up to date more frequently. There are other issues fixed besides that CVE that are optimal to keep your system running good.
