Good evening, a general question : what was the reason to switch from Prometheus to Victoria Metrics?

Hi there. Performance was the main driver, for longer retention Prometheus isn’t really designed for it. It’s also much more efficient from a storage footprint with native compression. If you add licensing you can also manage increasing granularity over time so you can keep even more data. It also adds convenient methods over standard promql.
Eventually, I really didn’t see any reason to not switch !
