I am looking into possibility of head swap from a700 to a900. Netapp documentation mentions about head swap kit containing 2 controllers and nvram modules. Do you guys know what part number had such head swap kit? Cant find it in HWU.

I have done this. What do you need the part numbers for? look in HWU and get the part numbers for the NVRAM and CPU modules.

don't forget the new bezel with the "A900" sticker instead of "A700". For the FAS2xxx systems there was an explicit "upgrade kit" that included 2 controllers and a bezel (presumably for a little discount, as well). I don't remember if such a kit was available for the A700

The catch with the upgrade has always been maintenance tied to the original controllers which means the support costs are higher. We have a number is customers that just buy new to reset the warranty support. Sometimes the cost is less than cost of support for three years

There is a process flow in the quote tool that builds the "Kit".
whoever quotes it will need to run through that.
