IHAC who got 12 drives as part of a NetApp SEG remediation process..
Should these drives have the capacity of the drive sticker on them eg 15.3TB?
All they have is a black square. If you did not see the lights at the top you could possibly think they are the empty caddy ?

We noticed something similiar recently where we got disks with different colored stickers even though it was the same disk model.
So I guess that's ok but for consistency reason I would report that.

I could see myself yanking out of those "blanks" by mistake. Yeah, I'd mark them somehow.

are you sure the customer got these drives from NetApp and not from some 3rd party reseller or even eBay? 😉

I mentioned all the blanks we had and somebody from NetApp raided our scrap bin for a customer's SEG order? Sure!
