#Is HANA single host architecture in VMDK infrastructure supported with SnapCenter?

Hello fellas,

At the end of 2020, we had a protection scenario with SnapCenter 4.3 (SC + SCV) of a HANA database in SLES, single host architecture, VMDK infrastructure, which worked perfectly until the decommissioning of that database.

The configuration was done following the instructions of the technical report 4614 of November 2020, which in table 2 on page 16 indicates that this scenario is supported in manual configuration and the mode of operation known as "Central plug-in host". I have uploaded a copy of the PDF file of the referenced technical report in my GitHub:

https://github.com/benaph-tsmx/shared/blob/48070b87256820cbea54126251cafb915ff1876d/12405-tr4614 (2020-11).pdf

We are now using SnapCenter 4.9 and plan to upgrade to version 5.0 later this year.

We need to protect several databases under the same scenario described in the first paragraph of this message, but the most recent technical report 4614 no longer mentions that it supports VMDK infrastructure.

https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/netapp-solutions-sap/backup/saphana-br-scs-snapcenter-concepts-and-best-practices.html#supported-hana-architectures-for-manual-hana-resource-configuration

Are we understanding correctly that this scenario is no longer supported in later versions of SnapCenter 4.3? This would be a strange step backwards and a major limitation that would prevent us from providing the protection our customers need.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Kind regards,
Ben

reading the documents that would appear to be the case.
However, I would check the ILM to make sure. However, I just did a quick view and it does not show a supported matrix for HANA/SC4.9/etc
