Hi Guys.

I want to upgrade my Data ONTAP8 Service Processor, but i can't find Matrix on FAS8040.

I can't find on HWU and below website.
https://mysupport.netapp.com/site/info/firmware/sp-bmc

My data ONTAP version is ONTAP 8.2.1P2.

We are experiencing the same issue as described in the KB below and need to find a solution, but unfortunately, EOVS has occurred and there is no service available.

I do not recall the backwards sp firmware matrix being as friendly as with ONTAP 9

mental hazel
#

So There is no way to check compatibility with my OS?

#

🥲

gaunt pendant
#

From the sounds of it, if power cycling and/or reseating the motherboard doesn’t fix the issue, it looks like it should be a motherboard replacement. That won’t happen from Netapp and if you try a third party, you’ll need updated license codes to utilize.

mental hazel
#

So, ultimately, even we purchase a used part to replace the controller, it would be difficult to transfer the protocol license, making it challenging to provide normal service.

#

Licenses codes are tied to serial numbers on or after 8.1

keen ivy
#

8.2, but yes

mental hazel
#

LOL WHAT SHOULD I DO

keen ivy
#

Pull out the impaired node for 130 seconds, plug it back in without the wrench port/e0M plugged in, watch over serial and cross your fingers

#

Not sure what you did but I can actually still select this system in HWU

#

SP 3.0.4P2 is the latest supported version for cDOT 8.2.1

#

(not sure if you're maybe running 7-Mode?)

mental hazel
#

YEAH 7-MODE

sweet lotus
#

if it's a hardware-issue that might also not really help 😉

mental hazel
#

HOW DO YOU CHECK THAT?

#

MY HWU IS BROKEN LOL

mental hazel
sweet lotus
#

exactly like in the first screenshot, first select the Platform then the OS

mental hazel

🤣🤣🤣
