A bash LInux script to increase the volume size upon receiving AIQUM alerts

Our AIQUM is running on Redhat server. It seems to be the alert script only supports BASH shell or Perl.
I am thinking to use bash shell to write a script to increase the volume size upon receiving the alerts. Can anbybody please share your scripts or point out any examples or detailed documents? The existing AIQUM doc is too simple

Probably be easier to enable auto-sizing on your volumes.
