Hi all,
I’m working ôn cifs open file issue
When I run command
Cifs session show for a share and do field with files I get value for files as 100k and when I check how many files are open for that share then I get only 1 with open mode “-“
And for another share files shows 101k but when I check how many files are open with command file show it shows me zero
What is issue and why files show 100k and files open show 1 and for other share it shows 101k and file open shows 0

And for other shares I do not even get file open
I also checked with lock show it shows me only 89 files list for first share

But if i check locks with the particular IP what we got in cifs sessions show then it shows me only 10 files locked

make sure you're not confusing "sessions" with "open files" ...

No sessions are the id that gets generated when accessing
I’m seeing files in 100k under file column but when I check with lock show or file open shows I do not see that huge number

not every file has a lock. You can open files without locking them

what version of ONTAP?

I think I got the issues server team is running icacls to set permissions and due to huge volume it’s not shutting it off on Netapp
