#DS4246 with IOM12: What's the EOS date?

DS4246 shelves have an EOS date of 31-Jan-2025.
But you can replace the IOM6 modules inside the DS4246 chassis with IOM12/12B modules. (There are conversion kits for that.) These IOM12 modules have EOS dates much further in the future.

Question: If you do that does the whole "DS4246-with-IOM12" shelf get the new EOS date?
Or in other words: Can I use "DS4246-with-IOM12" shelves after 31-Jan-2025?

When does your support contract run to? that is your answer 🙂 If the system has a support contract, and the drives are not EOSL, but the shelf is, if a drive fails, it's covered, but if the shelf fails it isn't. If it's the IOM that fails.. it might go either way

I am pretty sure that even thoug it works fine with IOM12 modules, the disks installed in the shelf will only be able to run 6G (even if they can sun 12G) because of the backplane in the shelf... It can be hard to identify because the controllers link up at 12G... (I tested a shelf on a Linux box where I was able to see the disks was not linking up at more than 6G)
