There is a feature in AIQ called "Config Drift". Presumably it is meant to allow you to compare a "gold copy" configuration of an OnTap system to another build (or, display changes to a system over time). Does anyone know if there is any documentation or training for this available anywhere? It seems like a really useful feature that used to be available back in the DFM days, but when I run a report, it sends me an Excel spreadsheet with a TON of information in it, and I can't make heads or tails of what it's telling me. It seems to just dump ALL the settings, rather than giving a synopsis of what is different between the two configs.

Thanks, @earnest meteor, this helped a little, but unfortunately, mostly just tells me how to click things.
Is anyone else using this feature? If so, I'm curiouse how you are using it. When I uploaded a template system and compared a different system to it, it came back with some 70,000+ drifts. It seems like it is comparing absolutely everything: hardware, volumes, etc. So, unless you have two systems with exactly the same hardware, it doesn't seem very helpful.
Our clusters are a hodge-podge of different AFF/FAS models, so hardware is definitely going to be different. I'm looking to compare just cluster/vserver level settings. Is that possible? I removed the hardware, volume, efficiency, and disk groups from the template I'm comparing to, and I'm down to only about 10,000 drifts now 🙂
