#Upgrading NAbox to 3.4

I noticed that there's a new version released. But when I upload the 3.4 update file to our running NAbox 3.3 VM's it starts the update and then after a few seconds it's reloading the maintenance page and it just shows a gray screen.

Then when I refresh the page nothing really happened. So just to be safe I've rebooted one of NAbox VM's and tried again but that didn't make any difference.

I've also tried the 3.4.1b1 update file but it shows the same behaviour.

Is there any way to figure out what's going wrong?

I did add a few packages (icinga2, montoring-plugins & perl) to the OS so we can monitor them since one of them ran out space at some point. Not sure if that's breaking anything for the upgrade 🙂

There seem to be an issue with some updates.

Can you go in ssh and run dc down then dc up -d ?

sure and then try the upgrade again?

#

the page now doesn't reload to a gray screen but the upgrade doesn't seem to continue past this point

That’s the upload phase so it’s not doing anything, I’m thinking network issue or capacity ?

after update from 3.3 to 3.4 grafana was unavailable. dc down / dc up -d fixed the problem

i'm uploading that file from within the same network and previous updates worked fine so I don't think it's network related, but I tried it again today since it was still stuck on that screen but now I got the gray screen again..

is there any logs to check maybe that could show where it's failing or can I maybe upgrade it from the cli itself to see if that shows errors?

It worked after dc up -d right ?

the upgrade never continued after the screenshot I shared unfortunately and then when I logged in again I got the gray screen again when uploading the file.. which is now still happening

Please send an email to help@nabox.org we can work over a remote session, we'll check on disk space as well

I managed to solve it by connecting using VPN and doing it directly from my mac..
I'm still unsure why it doesn't work from a VM in the same network on the same hypervisors but both our NAbox VM's are upgraded now 🙂

Thanks for the offer of doing a remote session btw! 🙂

Weird indeed, maybe old browser on the VM ?
