Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if it is posible to have multiprotocol on a Single Volume? We already have a existing NFS Volume and would like to mount it on a Windows host. Can I just enable both protocols on the SVM then create a share path on that? Does the new writes from the NFS will still be visible on the Windows? Any guides will be much appreciated. Thank you

yes, you can have both nfs and smb enabled on a single volume. The issues you could run into include permissions, locks and such.
what we tend to do, and it kind of sucks, is when something needs dual access we just enforce SMB only and make the linux machines mount them as CIFS

here are some good points to read up on

This step-by-step walkthrough shows you how to get NFS & SMB/ CIFS enterprise file sharing access for Cloud Volumes ONTAP storage volumes.
