I read that SC 4.7 is supporting NVMe for Oracle. How do I protect a VMware Datastore, SQL or Exchange DB with NVMe based backend namespace with App consistent snaps like we can do on VMFS/NFS? Will this be supported by Snapcenter at all in the future? We have many great next level innovations ready to use in Ontap and are excited for some time now but (for us) essential apps like Snapcenter / SCV are simply not there. NVMeFC was I think first introduced with Ontap 9.4 , which is some years old already. So it seems that this will actually never be implemented.
Is there a equivalent tool in BlueXP which offers support today?
And yes, certainly array based scheduled snaps can always be done, but they are not consistent and of course the ease of use, basic catalog and vCenter integration SC / SCV offers is something many customers appreciated over the years.
