I'm pretty sure the answer to this is yes you can but I wanted to check it's supported. We already have disks in adp assigned to each node in the HA pair but have a handful of left over unassigned data partitions, but need more assigning to one node to expand an aggr, so effectively assigning both data partitions on the disk to the same node. Can we just manually assign ownership of a partition to any node i.e. It doesn't need to be split 50/50 between the nodes?

it can, but you can't put both data partitions in the same RAID Group in the aggr.

Yep makes sense. Do you have a link to anything official on this?

i've only ever seen this config though in an "all or nothing" type config where node 1 has all Data partitions and an aggr with two RG.
