#AFF A150 active active configuration cluster

Hi, with an AFF you have advanced drive partioning, so each dual-node cluster get's two aggregates, using two logical network interfaces an A150 can use both nodes simultanious.
Using a San protocol, you can also use snapmirror business continuity to have two sites in an active-active setup.
Hi thanks for your answer. snapmirror business continuity is not only active passive mode with automatic script ?
No, not anymore.
https://docs.netapp.com/us-en/ontap/smbc/
my sales rep tells me about an ontap update scheduled for 1st quarter 2024 for active active mode ?
That could be possible, I do not have that information. So I cannot comment on that. (and personally, i really do not like future selling).
thank you for your answer. have a nice day.
SM-BC is not really active-active in the sense of serving one workload from both sites. For a given workload in SVM-1 only one side is going to be active. The other one will only be used in a DR-scenario.
You can do active-active for different workloads. So one workload is active on SVM-1 (located in site A) and another workload is active in SVM-2 (located in site B).
Heard these rumours too and can't really comment on it. I would suggest to await NetApp Insight end of October. 🙂
