Are you talking about the ASA platform?
Not yet supported with SMBC. You can use NVMe/FC and NVMe/TCP with SM-S though.
SMBC? Is this a new version of CIFS?
Oh SnapMirror Business Continuity. Jeez.
😄
Nvm me.
Nvm me? Is that a new version of NVMe/FC? 😉
(yeah, I hate TLAs/FLAs as much as anyone 😄 )
Man I was just as confused lol
Glad it wasn't just me.
officially, it should be written as SM-BC though, which makes it a bit clearer
SM-BC Protocols supported
corrected it 🙂
was hoping to have it
yeah its pretty strange how SM-BC supports ISCSI but not NVMe over TCP... especially for VMware
It might be on the roadmap so talk to your account team about it if it's a blocker for your business.
NVMe is a completely different protocol. iSCSI and FC share the same SCSI stack. NVMe didn't even have cross-node load balancing (ANA) for quite some time. So I don't think it's strange that not all features are supported with NVMe
That was my thought too.
