Hi guys,

We are planning to upgrade from 9.3P21 to 9.7P23. We are using iSCSI and hosts connected to luns are ESXi 7.0. As best practice I'm checking IMT but I cannot see there our Dell Servers - just some Cisco UCS and HPE. After clicking on plain x86-64 Rack Server it only shows me few options and I'm comparing it to current environment which is just working. Multipathing is ok, we can failover/giveback controllers etc.
So I assume its just preety straightforward in case of iSCSI? Rest of our systems is on FC and IMT showed more for us. So if iSCSI was working fine on 9.3 it should just be ok on 9.7? Didn't find any changes in multipathing or other things.
EDIT: Also upgrade advisor didnt popped up anything unusual and generated multi-hop procedure (9.3->9.5 in background->9.7) which we did on 20+ systems but on FC configuration. This one poor thing is sitting on one branch office with iSCSI but it does suprisingly well 🙂

ONTAP 9.7 has already reached end of full support. I hope you're planning on upgrading past 9.7 to something more current...

There is really not much to consider regarding iSCSI if you update ONTAP. You don't need to check NIC firmware or stuff like that.
