Hi @wicked heath ,

On my wish list for the next OTV version (currently 9.11 in my lab/course):

  • the VSC_users_roles.json that you download from https://otv:9083/vsc/config/ does not have all the required privileges/capabilities to do PBM (e.g. create datastore with SCP, vVols, ...), even if you select "VSC and VASA Provider” with all Privileges checked when creating the user.

  • It should give the above link (it should know it's own IP address, right?) instead of the 'old' RBAC User Creator link in the OTV Overview / Resources section.

If 9.12 fixes these bugs, it's not mentioned in the release notes...

RBAC is changing completely in 10.X, so expect a different experience going forward. In the meantime, there is an issue with VASA in that it requires physical visibility of the hardware, which you can't do with SVM-scoped accounts. So it requires cluster scoped accounts. Also, some of the ZAPIs aren't SVM scoped. ONTAP tools 10.X will be purely REST API based and no longer use ZAPI.

That said, we are still updating and patching 9.X.
