Hi, we are deploying Citrix UPM for user profiles on netapp share. We want to achieve specific permissions and access based enumeration. It will be best to create share for example userdata with read/write persmission for citrix users group in AD and then in it create ctxprofiles folder with permissions we want? for example like this (instead of everyone there will be group for example ad-sg-ctxusers containing citrix users):
#Citrix Profile Management on NetApp CIFS share

It's best practice to use dynamic home directories.
(instead of ABE)
(unless you're using FSLogix)
Citrix UPM is now something like fslogix, profile is now stored in avhdx file
Ok. There is a limitation of how the shares are set up, but otherwise it would work.
If you can set up DHD it will help avoid performance problems.
Will check that but it will be 30 users expected to grow 100 max
@ancient mortar does NetApp have any docs or kbs regarding how implement citrix profiles best with cifs in NetApp?
I don't see any.
Thanks for help we will discuss this internally. One of concern is that main share has full control permission for group in ad. In docs I see this is must but we thought that we can change this more granular with ABE and new folder in this share with creator owner rights
You can always migrate with an admin share then use DHD on the users share.
sorry for bothering but I've read articles and I've found:
this will be VDI solution Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops + Citrix Profile Management
but target users will be 100
so I think that it will not be issue, am I right?
now I see that in my 1st post I've missed that it will be VDI environment - sorry
