#The new NetApp License File, can it be uploaded via CLI and if so, how?

Hello,
We do not have access to system manager/web-gui of the cluster and we need to apply new licenses. Our system is running Ontap 9.10P11.
When the cluster was on Ontap version 9.10P8 we could convert the license files to license keys. But that does not work now with 9.10P11.

Can I upload the license files via CLI through FTP or a web server? And if so, how? What command line do i use in CLI?

Thanks,

I don't think that this is possible. However, you can open a non-technical case and get the license file converted to "oldschool" license keys, which you can then enter via CLI. From experience this is usually a fast process (a few hours).

at least you have the new license file. I still don't see them on our license portal.

Just saw this in a big report:

Do not run "system controller hardware-license" commands - they are not functional.
NetApp license files are installed via ONTAP System Manager.

The failure is expected because the hardware licensing feature associated with
the "system controller hardware-license" commands is not implemented on any
platform. This fix for this issue will remove the commands from ONTAP in a
future release.
