We tend to say open a support case… but here’s a user described process of you don’t have support - https://community.netapp.com/t5/ONTAP-Discussions/Reset-admin-Password-on-Clustered-ONTAP/m-p/125508
Recently I had to reset the admin password for an array that was not in production. The problem was it would give me the nmessage "Waiting for GiveBack" but since I didn't know the admin password I couldn't give the command on the active controller. So It was a little challenging because of the c...
Thank you for your feedback,
I will try this solution,
Indeed, it seems that I don't have access to the support (out of contract)
Can the information be encrypted when connected via console cable?
Let me explain, when I connect via console cable I get this:
Namely, I am a beginner concerning netapps (I take over from someone who had already done the installation)
looks like wrong baud rate - try with 9600 or 115200
Yeah wrong baud rate or bad bad cable
So, i have try :
The left controller says "Connection refused" when I try to connect via the console port
The controller on the right, no problem it boots during the operation of ctrl + C however it boots on a "Loader-B" and not the A.
There are no options to modify passwords
in the LOADER, type boot_ontap menu , press enter, wait for the boot menu to come up, then use option 3 to change the password
Even if the loader is "loader-B"?
and no "Loader-A"
yes. it just means that you're connected to the other controller (there are two controllers in your system)
Hey !
It seems that it worked, from one of the controllers I could access the netapp.
However this morning I retested and I was able to refuse the connection. So do I have to do the same on the other controller? I did a reboot after changing the password but on the controller whose password I did not change, it tells me that it is not the right password.
Is there a command to put?
