#Required SG version for ONTAP 9.11.1?

i don't think there is a dependency but IMT will give you much accurate answer
BTW, how is SG version and ONTAP currently related in your environment?
you probably should be using at least 11.5.0.7 ... but probably 11.5.0.11 ... lots of technical and security fixes
nothing wrong with running 11.6.0.5 or better either, ideally, 11.6.0.9 if you're going to do the upgrade anyway
Definitely upgrade StorageGRID. Not required due to the ONTAP upgrade but SG 11.6 is a LOT better than 11.5 and upgrades are relatively painless (slow, but almost always painless). That said, I heard a rumor that 11.7 is only a couple of months away.
Thank you all for your inputs. We are using SG for FabricPool. I couldn't find the version compatibilities between ONTAP and SG from IMT.
- It may not be required but should we upgrade SG to the latest BEFORE upgrade ONTAP?
- From where I am on to the latest, I have to go through: 11.5.0.11 --> 11.6.0-->11.6.0.9. I shouldn't do all three in one single time window. But, what is your recommendation on how many days should I "wait and see" after this upgrade until next one?
we've used pretty much all of these releases... i'd have to look to be sure about the upgrade path, but i don't think 11.6.0.1 is recommended... I think you can go right to 11.6.0.9 from 11.5.0.2 ... it will install 11.6.0.1 and patch it right up to 11.6.0.9 during the upgrade
there are additional functions in 11.6.0.x that you will want to be familiar with and lots of bug fixes, but there's no changes to S3 protocol support that will affect the frontend NAS systems negatively that I've experienced. If anything, a lot of things are better.
here is one additional feature in 11.6 that is cool as well
