I would like to move data from the old Netapp to the new one and at the same time change the Snaplock type from SnapLock Compliance to SnapLock entrprise.
I would also like to keep all the attributes including the creation and modification date of files.
SLC is on FAS2650 on separate aggr on DS4246 Shelf (CIFS Share) as it was migrated multiple times from FAS250 -> FAS2020 -> FAS2240 -> FAS2650.
Now we have a cluster with two HA pairs - FAS 2650 and AFF A250.
How can I migrate data from SLC to SLE - I dont care about disks where SLC is...

You cant use vol move or snapmirror to migrate. A few years ago I engage NetApp and they engaged a service provider to migrate from Bloomberg to Snaplock and ensure the integrity of the original attributes. Maybe you can ask NetApp as I have forgotten the name of the Service Provider. So that Service Provider is able to do what you intended. But I am pretty sure it will cost you a lot of money. to achieve what you intended to do. The Service Provider will be able to assist you to move SLC to SLE and ensure the retention are the same
With ONTAP 9.13.1 you can create a FlexClone from your SLC volume as an SLE volume, then move that to a different aggregate (or different HA pair), and nuke the old aggr. But it's not something that I have ever tried (9.13.1RC1 came out literally 2 days ago so it's pretty new)
Can't upgrade FAS2650 to 9.13.1 . 😦
Simple answer is no, it's not posiable without re-ingesting the data and then loosing disks to remove the former aggr. I have seen it done, but you end up with disks to toss and destroy.
Loosing those disks is not a problem. They are 408 GiB.. It is only a matter of migrating data from SLC to SLE.
You'd have to XCP it to a SLE volume.
is it possible to SnapMirror SLC volume to SLE volume on the same vserver? How do you XCP? ||Do I need a license for that?|| I see it is free... I'll try that, thanks..
It’s free to customers.
Let me clarify though. You can use whatever really. Xcp is just convenient .
SnapMirror only replicates between like SnapLock types (SLC->SLC or SLE->SLE).
There is a lot of legal around snaplock. Hence a lot of the restrictions.
Where can I check that info about FlexClone from SLC to SLE? I have read trough release notes and found nothing about that..
How can I "leave behind" the SnapLock Compliance disks, aggr and vol after I copy data with NetAppp XCP to a SLE vol on new system and unjoin Cluster:
