Hey, i think of bying a stroage "server" can you use the NetApp E2624 stand alone or do you need a controller server

That's a controller w/disks. That went EOA and EOS years ago.
Caution buying used.

it's more the licensing and software downloads that could be the issues.

If you managed to snag any of the newer e28** line I think you may be able to swap out the 460c modules in and use them as shelves... But they are pricey still

Hey, I was wondering if i could use the ethernet port on my countroler or do i have to use the sas conectors. If some one is availeble to talk an gude me thru the setup i wuld be thankful for that 🙂

Hey @golden blade this particular thread is in our #1064958870386130985 area, which is really not the best place for this. Might I suggest you open up a new thread over at the #1080541653036699739 section (the system you mentioned "E2624" is an E-Series product). Potentially some folks canm give you some pointers on how to get started. Do keep in mind that buying second-hand equipment means there is no official support.
