I have an HA pair with 2 data aggregates on it. One aggregate is ADP enabled, the other is not. I am getting "low spares" messages and I am unable to have spares on the node. When I attempt to move a spare from it's partner to this node it immediate becomes a "shared" drive for ADP. A drive was failed on the node and replaced, and even the replacement seems to have become a shared disk instead of going into the spares pool. I'm concerned that this will cause serious issues as the aggregates essentially has no spare disks.

Late to the party on this one, but did you ever get this figured out?
Just so you know, a non-partitioned hot spare can swap out for a partitioned disk.
Can you share the output from (must be diag):
storage aggregate show-spare-disk -list partitions true
