We are currently running ONTAP 9.9.1p3. What version we should upgrade to? should we go to 9.12.px at all? and what are your considerations?
We don't want to go for the newest, probably one prior to the newest, a stable one. It is 8-node cluster, and mainly for VMware and NFS/CIFS, and using StorageGrid and FabricPool.

i would stick to the latest patch relese of 9.11.1 for now..

Can you please elaborate on why we wouldn't want to go to 9.12.1p2?

We are also going from 9.9.1P6 to 9.11.1P6/P8 because 9.12 is to „new „ for us

I would always stick at GA -1..its just something i have done my whole IT career.. Unless you need to be on the bleeding edge release for a feature...someone else can sort out the bugs..

I would recommend an upgrade to 9.11.1P6 and plan on 9.12.1P4 for late summer (depending how stable 9.12.1 looks at the time).
