#How does Ocean on-premise estimate AWS costs?

I've just noticed Ocean has ability to manage on-premise k8s clusters(not sure it is a new feature tough) and am trying with my on-prem cluster.

"AWS Estimated Costs" on the dashboard is very interesting for me, but I'm still wonder how it is estimated. Does it consider bin-packing nodes, utilizing with Spot instances like Ocean Insights? Or just showing costs when each of k8s nodes is replaced to on-demand instances?

hey there @wary compass - Ocean used to be able to manage on Prem solutions. The cost you are seeing is an estimate of what your environment would cost to run in AWS. Including BinPacking and Optimization and using Spot Instances.

The OnPrem Ocean Controller capability however no longer is in the product.

Hope this helps answer your questions, and please let me know if you need any additional guidance

Thank you for your help, @grim delta ! My original question is perfectly cleared. But I'm curious "it is no longer in the product" part.
Does it mean this feature is gonna be removed from my console in the near future?

@wary compass - I am checking with the product teams to get an answer to that query

Yes, this will disappear (it might have already.)
