Is there a possible way to disable all file locking on a Volume or Qtree running unix security with cifs share? ONTAP 9.10.1 P4 here. I have opened a case, but am more than eager to see if someone else already has the answer.

The level 1 support has already sent me various kb articles.

You can disable oplocks, yes, but not without introducing risk to your environment.

May I ask instead what you're doing with a UNIX security folder within a CIFS share? are you mixing access models purposefully?

It's multiprotocol. not mixed, this is unix security with CIFS share on top of it so that Windows Users can access the content provided by the application. Not purposely, but I have a large internal customer base and we do a ton of multiprotocol.
