#How to download Broadcom firmware EFOS 3.10.0.3?
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
Hey @vocal blade take a look at - https://kb.netapp.com/Advice_and_Troubleshooting/Data_Protection_and_Security/MetroCluster/How_to_download_firmware_for_Broadcom_BES_switches and https://kb.netapp.com/Advice_and_Troubleshooting/Data_Storage_Systems/Fabric_Interconnect_and_Management_Switches/How_to_open_a_support_case_with__Broadcom_(BES-53248)
You can contact Broadcom support if the process is not working.
Thanks. We already have an account and can login without issues to the page mentioned in the NetApp-KB (https://servicesbytechdata.force.com/BESSwitch/s/login/) but EFOS 3.10.0.3 is not available there...
Since NetApp recommends this version I thought you would need to use the NetApp provided URL: https://mysupport.netapp.com/site/products/all/details/broadcom-cluster-switches/downloads-tab
which leads you to this page (https://support.broadcom.com/group/assist/home/-/portal/downloads) which apparently is the wrong one 😕
Downloading the Broadcom firmware has been made frustratingly confusing the last years and I don't understand why...
100% agree, Broadcom made some changes to how they handle "controlling" access to firmware and it's caused pain for multiple vendors including NetApp.
That being said, the fact that something doesn't flow / redirect correctly on our end doesn't sound right. @left silo looks like the support site might be redirecting to an old or incorrect URL. Can we get this to the NSS folks to check?
@vocal blade If after contacting Brocade support you still can't get what you need please do raise a support case with our team. We can contact Brocade from our end if need be.
I was reading this thread a few minutes ago and was going to take a deeper look. I'll see who can make the right updates to NSS.
Thx guys, I've sent a mail to Broadcom support, will report back how it goes
Have you heard back from Broadcom?
nope, silence
sent the mail to BES-Support@techdata.com
but it's not really urgent, I noticed that EFOS 3.10.0.3 is not yet listed for MCC-IP switches, so I updated the customer switches to 3.9.0.2 today
