#Replacement for CN1610 - 3 HA Pairs
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
really only 3 options I believe currently.
BES and the Nvidia switch, is probably the closest to the CN1610.
Most customers I work with though are putting in the Cisco 9336 .
we use broadcom bes-53248
Not 100% sure about the Nvidia switches but the Broadcom should be the least expensive solution.
It kind of depends how big your current cluster is, what models and how big you are planing your cluster to get.
yeah, the BES gives you the option to license less ports.
Also with the Cisco Nexus 9336 switches, besides using them for the nodes in your cluster, you can connect the newer 100Gb network-shelves (NS224) to the switches.
That's necessary if you need to grow your capacity even more because you can't daisy-chain these network shelves anymore like it worked with SAS-based shelves.
Thank you, after several discussions we landed on BES 53248. How does it compare to management of the CN1610s?
I remember paying around $30K for 4 CN1610s, the Cisco Nexus option was $200K, so the BES it is.
We are just clustering 3 HA pairs, AFF, FAS, and whatever we purchase this year, was looking at FAS 8300 but the C series has peaked my interest.
