#Trying to understand output from node_nfs_lock_total

I had a host slurp up all of the NFS locks on a node last night (>70,000 locks on one file for one host) and when I was trolling through prometheus looking for what was going on I was seeing numbers like this
0.6321204252602669
is there some kind of math I need to do to make that number make more sense?

looks like that counter is a rate
