headroom has been fixed and a new Harvest unit test (that runs on every code commit) has been added to ensure all panels use spanNulls: true https://github.com/NetApp/harvest/pull/1602

in the meantime, it is a pain if you started to customize your dashboards, i'm in that situation with configuratio files and dashboards.

yep, understood. That's an area we'd like to improve, but we haven't figured out a way to make measurable improvement in that area yet. Customers make modifications to the dashboards for lots of good reasons, the Harvest team does the same. Not clear there is a good way to merge changes automatically between the two. Open to suggestions. I know some customers use our dashboards as templates and create their own focused ones with fewer panels/counters and, in most cases, those work release-to-release since we try hard not to change metrics dashboards rely on. But that doesn't help the customers that modify the out-of-the-box ones

yes indeed that's not easy, just dropping an idea (don't know if and how it is possible), having a kind of graphical tree giving the changes of dasboards and conf files
