It sounds like maybe WFA is just creating the snapshots, so there is no snapshot policy on the volume? Is there possibly a scheduled job in WFA that creates a snapshot each time it runs?

Correct, the snapshot-policy is "none" on these volumes. But, SnapShots got created every day with 10 days retention.

  1. If it was WFA, then it created snapshots and deleted them after 10 days in a programing loop, and put the process in a WFA scheduled job, correct?
  2. Can this process (written by PwerShell) exist without using WFA when it is gone?
  3. Are there any benefits of using WFA/PS instead of using ONTAP SnapShot Policy not mentioned to WFA is going away?
