Hello. I am attending Insight this year and was wondering how we register for the sessions. I have been looking for the Insight App on the App Store and I don't see it yet. I would like to build my schedule when possible. How can I do that? Thank you.

As a registered attendee, you will be able to access it via your attendee portal. Log into that by clicking the "register now" button on https://insight.netapp.com/

I'm Charles and I work on the INSIGHT event at NetApp and I can tell you that we sincerely want every attendee to feel as secure in transactions with us as possible. To expand a bit on what has been shared here, I can offer two specific things:

First, as Nick mentioned, reservations for INSIGHT 2023 are being made through passkey which is a 3rd party platform and are operating normally.

Second, while I do not have anything official to share in this moment other than the note on passkey, please know that I have escalated this inquiry internally and I will come back with a more complete response for you on this.

Thank you for asking about this in such a kind and human way. I will follow up with more ASAP!

However with ongoing cyberattack still impacting the MGM Grand (along with other casinos,) saw examples of very long hotel check-in lines and jantors/support staff having to manually open hotel room doors due to the keycard system being down. Want to ensure that the conference and hotel resort experience is sufficient once folks start arriving. Thank you and appreciate it for looking into it and will stay tuned.

Honestly it’s completely out of our hands. Those collections of customer info are managed by the venue, not NetApp. We do our best on our side, but when it’s outside of our systems, it’s beyond our control.

there's not a single doc or class the cert is writen for. but here's a few points -
the latest rev is writen to 9.12.1
understand practical ONTAP admin skills/ tasks
understand ONTAP e.g. snapmirror, snaplock etc.
basic troubleshooting skills

the practice test are taken from actual cert test questions that were writken for it, but not used because they were flagged as practice questions.

“SnapMirror active sync” is the official name. It was shown as a technology preview at INSIGHT and will be released in 1HCY24.

Yes and Yes. So the rename of SM-BC to SnapMirror active sync will be for all configurations, including the current Asymmetric versions but you are correct that the fully symmetric active-active design needs new ONTAP. It is in tech preview in ONTAP 9.14.1 and will be GA in an upcoming version.

As for the name change, I normally don't like name changes either but this one kind of works. So now you can operate SnapMirror in 3 modes, async, sync and active sync...It is pretty clear what each one does. Note they are all lower case as it is all just SnapMirror but 3 different modes of operation.

But currently it's more like: SM for good-old asynchronous, SM-S for (strict)sync and SM-BC or now SM-AS for sync with transparent failover.

2. Do you know more now than you did before about what Spot and IC Do and how we fit into the Cloud Strategy inside of NetApp

'Twas bound to happen, regardless of the source. I've had two bouts this year. Luckily the multiple jabs have curbed it to only really mess with me for about a day. There was a great 60 Minutes piece recently where scientists are already looking back at how it was handled, and one of the key culprits of the spread appears to be air quality and inside air filtration.
