I guess I’ll post about The Last of Us since no one else has 😎.
The first episode was good, but was it top-of-IMDb good?

Also the music in the show is done by the same person who did music in the game I believe, so that's keeping things nicely on theme.

#

I believe one of the producers is also from the game too, so I think it's giving this series a good chance.

I’ve always been an Xbox/PC gamer, so I’ve never played it. I was excited to learn the game is coming to PC March 3!

I have a PS4 collecting dust, but thankfully that let me play both the original game and the second. Although the second game would literally almost set the PS4 on fire. Fans at full blast and nice and toasty after a few hours of play time.

That’s how you know it’s a good game, right? 😁

100%

#

I prob will replay it on PC when it comes out. Worth it.

Aside from WoW, Last of Us is up there with my all-time games. And having Neil Druckman (who is OCD personified) as one of the showrunners (he wrote/made the games) is going to pay massive dividends.

#

This is just one example from one episode.

#

The casting is perfectly done too.

Troy Baker hosts the showrunners

(Troy Baker played Joel in-game)

I know there are only a couple episodes but so far it's exceeded expectations. Loving it. It's also motivated me to prioritise and finish the second game.

I told my WoW raiding friends that the first two episodes alone have potentially caused them to lose me for another full replay of both games.

I am replaying TLOU for like the third time, but I am following episode by episode.

Ohhhhh! thats a great idea!

It's crazy how they delve a bit more into the backstory leading up to the Outbreak, but its fascinating how close they follow the story lines, Even down to the point in this episodes when they go to the Museum

That's so cool! 🙂

#

I wonder how much of the game they'll get through in the first season?

frozen hamlet
#

That;'s a good question - since it is only nine episodes

But I am also interested to see how they handle a post-outbreak Salt Lake City or if they skip it and go right to Colorado.

LAST OF US might get an Emmy nod for last night's episode. That's one of the best episodes of prestige tv I've ever watched.

Finally watched ep3. Couldn't agree more - 10/10. ❤️

This 1 episode per week is killing me. 🙂

Apparently SLC makes it into the Last of Us

I initially thought you were talking about SnapLock Compliance.

(Although, the exit that this is, does not have that view of Downtown SLC)

Here comes the big finish!

Oh geez it's the last episode next week? Nooooooooo!

I’m expecting to be destroyed. Surely it’s why the Steam release got delayed, right? 😆

I don't know how they are cramming all of this into 43 mins though... it's going to be a very tight episode.

I agree. While I'm not mad at it, Neil could have paced this out a LOT more to cover 2-3 seasons for the story.

Today I was reminded that both Ice-T and Shooter McGavin were in 1984's smash hit, BREAKIN.

Though, Ice T's best roll was in Tank Girl.

Ice T also tore it up in what is one of the better sequel names of all-time: BREAKIN' 2: Electric Boogalo

🚨 NEW TRAILER 🚨
I was doubting their ability to pull off the "FlashPoint" story arc, but by god it looks like they've done it.

SISU is must-watch stuff. Quentin Tarantino wishes he made it. Pure cinema.

Such a good show, with so many great actors, Andre really stole the show for me

Just saw Oppenheimer last night - powerful not only in content but length, holy three hours, Batman!

waxen chasm

Fun fact: 3-hour movies have been around for decades. I love how it's still considered a big deal. THE GREEN MILE was 3 hours in 1999. Each of the LOTR theatrical releases (read: not Extended Editions) were 3 hours. Seven Samurai, Wolf of Wall Street, Schlindler's List, Godfather II, Spartacus, Apocalypse Now, GONE WITH THE WIND!

Sorry, just me being a movie nerd. I absolutely LOVE long, epic worldbuilding films. Scorcese alone has 6 films that are 3+ hours in length.

Settling in for a movie >3h is a commitment. Killers of the Flower Moon is next on my list at 3h26m.

I did some quick Googling on this topic.. and this question came up a few times - is Kill Bill considered 1 or 2 movies?

#

or do you consider * it 2 movies

2 🙂

Go sit down and watch KB1 without 2 and tell me it's a complete film.
